VXW Vortex Steam Flow Meter is designed for accurate and repeatable flow measurement in steam distribution, boiler monitoring, energy management and process applications. Its vortex shedding measurement principle converts the frequency generated behind a bluff body into a flow signal, enabling stable measurement without mechanical moving parts in the measuring section.
For steam applications, the temperature and pressure compensated VXW configuration uses the actual operating conditions to calculate density and mass flow. This is particularly important on saturated and superheated steam lines where pressure, temperature and density can change during operation. The result is a more meaningful basis for steam consumption monitoring, energy allocation, boiler performance analysis and process control.
VXW vortex flow meters are available in PN16, PN25 and PN40 pressure classes. Flanged, wafer and project-specific connection arrangements can be selected according to the pipeline, medium and operating conditions. The product range covers steam, compressed air, gases and suitable liquid applications.
With selectable outputs including 4–20 mA, pulse/frequency and optional communication configurations, VXW can be integrated into PLC, DCS, SCADA and energy monitoring systems. Correct meter sizing and adequate straight pipe lengths are essential for reliable vortex flow measurement.
